He however keeps the nature of his occupation a strict secret. Years pass and Bill has paid but n few visits to see his daughter, who lias become a linn friend of Joy Gilder, a pil l friend. She goes to the Gilder s count rv residence for the holidays, where she meets Joy’s la-other, Geoffrey. They are attracted to one another. and Peppy consents to write to her father and ask him to meet her fiancee's parents. 'I he laller desire to meet him in order that they nitty pass judgment on him.
