A JTvAT.OI'S WIFE. WELUXOTOX. Sept. 2. Helena. Breach. 55, pleaded guilty to the charge of having set fire to the house of Walter Henry Jemmison. at Mai tiiihorough. and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. In April last .accused’s husband separated from her. and went to heard at .Temmison’s. Accused endeavoured to get her husband to return, hnt he did not do so. On April 24th. Jemmisou’s car and motor shed were burnt. _ Shortly afterwards he bought another ear and placed it in a shed at the rear of the house. On August 16th. he noticed an attempt had been | made to set fire to the motor shed, and the hack portion of the house. In answer to accused's counsel. Jemmison said that accused had made a complaint that her husband was attracted by .Tenimison's wife. Counsel said that accused had suffered from loneliness and was worried. The offence was caused by passionate jealousv. The woman was known in Martinborough as very respectable. SET GROG FIXE. PAHIATTTA. Sept. 2. William MeAvov. butcher, of Pongaroa. was charged with keeping liquor for sale and also with selling liquor in the no-license area of Masterton He was fined £2O in each ease the costs being £5.
