Down (Secretary of the New Zealand Hockey Association) when interviewed regardinti dissatisfaction amongst members oi the Wellington Association and their agitation to have the headquarters shifted to AVellington. AYitb reference to complaints concerning the recent tour of the Austi.ilian team Air Down pointed out that a letter had been received from the manager of the team, in which he stated that the organisation of the Xew Zealand Hoc-key Association was perfect. “It is not right to say that we do not support the smaller Asoeiations,” said. Air Down. “We sent the Australian team to Westport and Geraldine, places where overseas teams representing any other branch of sport had never been previously, and as far as for getting the Australians over here, we acted our own initiative. It is ridiculous f, <av that we were prodded into it. He also stated that arrangements were now being made for a visit from a British Army team in India, and also for a visit from an English representative team. These complaints were the results of sheer jealousy on Wellington's part, he concluded.
