[Australia & N.Z. Cable Association.] ANGLO-FRENCH SETTLEMENT. LONDON, Aug. 30. •Reference to the misapprehensions apparently existing as regards the British proposal for the settlement of the French debt, it is learned there has always been an understanding that the French Government .should lie granted a partial moratorium, and should not ! e compelled to pay the whole 12] million'- annuity starting in 1925. Unless a ole to do so. it understood, the sums falling short- of the annuity will lie made up in later payments.
