WESTLAXD SUJ3-UNIOX. AfOXDAV. Al'C. 2-ltli. The Sub-l'nion met at 8 p.m. Present: Alessrs F. .McGregor (President). Cutbush, Dowell, Stafford. Breeze, Steele, Lawn, .Moore. Coulson. Ilmvat and Breeze. The minutes were confirmed and correspondence received and contents noted. The Referees Association recommended referees as follows: Seniors:—Kiwi v. United at Hokitika at 3 p.m. Air A. Sumner. Juniors—Kiwi v. Excelsiors at 1.39 p.m. Air (). Alclvor; Ross v. A rail lira at Ross at 3 p.m.; Harihari v. Kanieri at Harihari at 3 p.m. Air C. Caylor. Third-grade—Kiwi v. Excelsior at I. p.m. The referee (Mr A. .Sutherland) reported the Harihari team for hoofing him after the conclusion of a game, and asked the Union to take llie matter up.—Received. It was resolved to forward the report to the Harihari Clul, with a requesi for an explanation. The referee (Air Sumner) reported tlie bad condition of Kumara ground, and asked for immediate attention. — Received; the attention of the Kumara Chth to he called to the complaint. A deputation from the Relerees' Association consisting of Messrs Alclvor. J. Coulson and AY. Wilson waited on the Union in reference to the finding of flic Judicial Committee in cases of men recently ordered off. Members of the deputation addressed the meeting, answered several questions and then wtilidrew. The report of the Judicial Committee was tabled and discussed. Mr Coulson moved that the report be received and adopted. Seconded by Air Howat. Air Dowell moved that both players he cautioned. No seconder. The motion was agreed to. Alessrs Dowell. Heenan and Cutbush dissent mg. The Kumara Club wrote asking that a date la fixed for the , -aside tournament.- - Received ; r> nsidoration was deterred till tie. fixtures were completed. Seconded by Mr Breeze and carried. From X.Z. Rugby Union staling that, in the Ross v. Kanieri match, no try should have liven allowed.— Received. Air Dowell moved that enquiry he made asking if (lie match should he replayed or a draw declared. Seconded liv Air Coulson and carried. From W.C.R.U. enquiring if the Sub-Cuinn Oivourcd the sending ot a li-am in quest of tin- Seildoii Shield.— Received. It was resolved to answer stating the Sub Union was not able at preset!i to assist financially. The protest by the Kanieri Club, held ever from last meeting was considered. Tb f . This was accepted by Air llowat (Kanieri delegate) and the protest was withdrawn, ft was resolved that the deposit be refunded. In connection with the vi'it of the South Canterbury team it was resolved the Sub-Union were prepared, it the W.C.R.U. take the responsibility, of sharing any loss that occurred. Resolved that the trophy for the knock-out. competition lie an enlarged photograph of the winning learn. A fine of H)s was indicted on the Kiwi Junior team on account nl their forfeit without notice. From Muller Rugby Union uglifying Sop!. 121,b. as date for AVesllaud-Bul-|or junior representative fixture, and offering GO per cent, of gate.- Received and arrangements accepted. Messrs D. Dowell. Stafford and Heenan were uppoinled selectors. It was resolved to play the Ro«s-.\rn-l,iira .natch at R"ss next Kaiurdav instead of Sept. !2I1«.. Mr A. Cutbush to be referee. The question of entertaining the South Canterbury team was lei t in the hands of Air D. Dowell to arrange. WEST COAST RUGBY UXIOX. At a meeting of the committee of the (Vest Coast Rugby i niim held at Greymouth last evening, it was decided to direct referees not to allow players to take the field unless wearing their proper duh colours. Fixtures for Saturday next were ns follows : Senior United v. Kiwis at, Hokitika : Stars v. Excelsiors, A. ground. Park p.m. (Mr AfeTntosh). It was resolved to challenge Afnrlborough for the Reddon Shield on September 19th.
