ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. BEEF AND MUTTON EASIER. (By Telegraph.—Special to Buardian.) CHRISTCHURCH, This day. Messrs H. Matson and Co., report as follows regaiding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday : Store Sheep—There was a medium varding of store slice]), mostly hoggets, with a fair percentage of good young ewes. Tiie market was a good one, but hardly showed the buoyancy of last sale. Good hoggets sold well, as did any good lines of ewes with reliable warranties. What- few wethers were yarded also sold well. Three-quarter fired ewe hoggets made 33s (3d, to 39s 9d, cross- bred ditto 31s to 335, M.S. ditto 335. ditto 28s to 35s (id, best forward wethers 3Gs to 38s (id, B.M. Romney cross-ewes to Lis (id, l.m. ditto to 375, best 2-tooth half-bred ewes 52s 9d, s.m. ditto (good) to 41s. Store Cattle—A small entry again, and. as usual mostly ol non descript lots. There was a good demand all round and if any docent sorts of lines came forward they would sell readily, but. unfortunately, they are hard to get hold of. Eat Pigs—There was a small elite of bat oners and the demand was very keen, prices being considerably above last sale, this being the best sale for -onto time. Light haconers made £1 12s to £5 10s. heavy £3 to £.(! 15s, extra in £7 10s. average price 9d to Bid per |b. Only a medium entry of porkers. The market nas very firm, all sorts selling well. Light porkers made £2 Ills to £3. heavy £3 5s to £3 18s, average price 9Jd to lOd per lb. Store Pigs - A medium yarding and prices generally were on a par with recent sales, although the sale was very irregular, barge stores made 15s to 50s. smaller 30 to 12s, good weanors 25- to 325. medium Ifis to 235. others down to 20s. Beef—A very large yarding, being about (335 head and comprising a consignment from the North Island. Blenheim. West Coast and South Canterbury. The quality was. generally, very irregular, but one consignment from the North Island were outstanding, and averaged over £22 per bead. The sale opened much easier, about £1 10s. to £2 10s. below last sale, but later improved somewhat, but on the whole there was not much difference Irom llie* opening rates. Prime steers made £lO to £22, extra £2B 7s Gd, medium £l6 to £lB 15s, lighter £l3 lOs to £ls 15s. others to £ll, prime heifers £ll 10s to £1 I os. extra to £l(3 17s Gd, medium £8 15s to £ll ss, prime cows £ll 10s to Cl 1. extra £l(3 to £2l 2s (id, medium £9 10s to £ll, otherdown to CG. Mutton—A Very large yarding, in fact quite as large as tlie National double sale. Not so many owes as recently were yarded, but the majority of the yarding erne from South of Ashburton and the quality was hardly" ; ,s "nod as usuai. In lace oi the heavy beef yarding, and being more than sufficient for local requirements. Ibe market opened easier by Ls Gd 0) •2s. than last sale, and this drop was fairly manifest throughout the sale. Graziers were operating keenly on any unlinishing good shearing sheep. Considering the large entry the sale was a good one. Prime wethers made 46s Gd to 50s. extra to 60s, medium ditto 42s Gd to lOs. lighter 33s Gd to 41s Gd. prime owes 3Ss Gd to 435. extra to 38s Od. medium 33s Gd to 38s, lighter 30s to 3.35, others down to 2Gs 6d.
