The pipes have also been laid on the east side of Tailored St. 2 chains 2ft. north of Weld St. These two drains will now carry the storm water into the Tailored' St. ISiu. drain, and will be of great assistance in keeping the same thoroughly scoured out. The question of repairs to the Town Clock was treated as a matter of urgency. The metal structure was found to tic in a very had condition and wooden supports Gin, x Gin. have been placed in each corner in such a manner as to support the angle irons which carry the weight of the clock mechanism. These repairs will insure ihe safely of the dock for some considerable time. The manufacture of ]Bin. concrete pipes has ceased and it has also been found necessary to reduce the casual stall' by three. Preparations are being made for the erection ot the tar distilling plant. 1 have also acted as supervisor of the painting of the Public Library. A four-inch earthenware pipe dram has been laid front the Taucred St. Tint in across to the property occupied hv Mr D. Dowell.
