CHANNEL SWIMMING
LADY FAINTS. [Australia A X.Z. Cable Association.] (Received this day at 12.30 p.m.) LONDON. Aug. 12. Miss Lillian Harrison commenced her swim of the Channel from Cape Grisuez. but abandoned the attempt after eight miles. She fainted in the water and commenced to sink in a choppy sea. . . Pelmi an Egyptian aspirant for the Channel honours, jumped overboard from the accompanying tug. but failed to hold Miss Harrison owing to the cease with which she was plentiful 1> besmeared. Others swam with ropes and hauled her aboard.
