BRITISH SERVANTS STRIKE. ■ PUKIN’, August 7
Some servants belonging to tbe British Legation Staff and also the Legation Guard, have walked out, presumably owing to the Student Unions’ intimidation. It -is understood that AA’aichiaopu is taking steps with a viey to arranging a settlement; i'l’ElvlN. August 8.
One hundred servants at the British Legation, including some of the secretaries have struck.
Students are now picketing the legation gates to prevent any servants making an ingress and tire intimidating the families of those living inside the Legation.
The students are also paying the strikers a month’s wages. The students have « movement for the boycotting of ail the Britili missionary schools and colleges. It i.s making considerable headway.
It has now been decided to attempt to induce ail the Chinese in foreign employ in Pekin to join tbe strike.
