1 [BY TELEGRAPH —PEP. PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] THE HOUSE. The House met to-day at 2.30 p.m. WELLINGTON. July 31. After the transaction of formal business the debate on the Budget was continued by Messrs Edie, Savage, Ransom, Lee and Wright. Just before the dinner adjournment a division was taken on Mr J'. K. Eider's amendment which was defeated bv 32—28. Labour voted with the Liberals against, the Government.

The debate was adjourned on the motion of Mr R. A. De La I’errelle and tho House rose at 9.-1,3 till 2.39 on Tuesday.
