McLEAN’S PICTURES,

“HEARTS AFLAME’’ —TO-NIGHT. “Sir Francis Roll Commissioner of Forestry for New Zealand attended a private screening of tho Paramount Metro feature “Hearts Aflame” at tho Kings Theatre, Wellington, recently. This production is an adaption of tho famous forestry story “Timber” by Harold Titus, and is devoted to the cause of forest conservation a subject of vital interest to New Zealanders at tbe present time. It will no doubt prove a valuable document for those interested in forest conservation in this country. Others present at the screening were :--Captain M. Ellis, Director of Forestry; Messrs Phillips Turner, Secretary of the Forestry League; E. C. .Tack, Secretary of the Forestry League, A. Leigh Hunt, Director of the Dominion Farmers Institute, Malcolm Fraeser, Government Statistician. Twenty acres of burning pine are shown consumed by roaring, hissing flames, through which a locomotive dashes driven by Anna Q. Nilsson. Trees crash on every side, the flames lick at the window of the cab as she clings to tbe throttle and pilots the i all through a quarter of a mile of .seething, roaring lire. Foxes and wolves, panic-stricken by the thunder of tho falling trees, and the flames which leap up at them with their own cunning. rush blindly out ol the, forest and two tiny bears slide whimperingly down tbe trunk of a tree, just as it starts to top]ile. A lake, mirrored in tbe depths of the forest like a diamond in a ruby setting, offers a refuge to a frightened doe. “Hearts Aflame,” a Metro picture, was produced for Louis R. Mayor. It is based on tbe novel “Timber,” by Harold Titus.

A two reel Alack Sennet.t Comedy, a gazette and comedy will conclude thus superb programme. Como and bear the famous song “Zillalt” sung by the audience and played by our Supreme Orchestra.
