LISTENING-IN AT SING SING.
NKAV YORK. June 2. Solitarv confinement* in King Sing, America's lno-l celebrated convict prison. has been deprived ot most of its horrors since the advent of wireless broadcasting. Cndei- new rules all convicts who have the wherewithal are permitted to instal receiving sets in their cells. Already according to a report- from Warden Lewis T.awes. twelve of them have availed themselves of this modern privilege. In a spirit of altruism, each or thtwelve thus favoured has had his instrument equipped with headphone extension.-, to other cells in 70 of which the occupants are now provided -with a daily programme of music and other entertainments. Sing Sing is celebrating its centenary this week.
