1 ‘HEARTS AFLAME’ ’—FRIDAY. “Sir Francis 801 l Commissioner of Forestry for Now Zealand attended a private screening of tho Paraiiiount Metro feature “Hearts Aflame” at the Kings Theatre, Wellington, recently. This production is an adaption of the famous forestry story “Timber” by Harold Titus, and is devoted to the cause of forest conservation a. subject of vital interest to Now Zealanders at the present time. It will no doubt prove a. valuable document for those interested in forest- conservation in this country. Others present at the screening were : - Captain M. Ellis, Director of Forestry; Messrs Phillips Turner, Secretary of the Forestry League; E. C. Jack, Secretary of tho Forestry League, A. Leigh Hunt, Director of the .Dominion Farmers Institute, Malcolm Fracser, Government Statistician. Twenty acres of burning pine tiro shown consumed by roaring, hissing (lames, through which a locomotive dashes driven by Anna Q. Nilsson. Trees crash on every side, the flames lick at the window of the cab as sbo clings to tbe throttle and pilots the cab through a quarter of a mile of seething, roaring fire. Foxes and wolves, panic-stricken by the thunder of the falling trees, and the flames which leap up at them with their own cunning. rush blindly out of the forest and two tiny bears slide whimperingly down tbe trunk of a tree, just as it starts to topple. A lake, mirrored in the depths of the forest like a diamond in a ruby setting, offers a refuge to a frightened doe. “Hearts Aflame,” a Metro picture, was produced for Louis B. Mayor. It is based on llie novel “Timber,” by Harold Titus.

A two reel Mack Scmiett Comedy, a gazette and comedy will conclude thus siijicrh programme. Come and hear the famous song “Zillali” sung by the audience and played by our Supremo Orchestra.
