The Riffs are reported to be preparing for a great effort before tbe arrival of French reinforcements, tiie news of which is causing them anxiety. Telegrams from Fez state the Riffs after a period of reorganisation, are now resuming their offensive and are re-appearing in various sectors ol the front.
Apparently a march to l'ez is the enemy's objective. Wcrr.an is threatened. The enemy are consolidating positions eastward of Fez. and north of W’erglia, but fighting is not yet reported. Tbe besieged garrison at the lionaisa post has been supplied with water b\ an aeroplane. BRITAIN GN'ABLK TO lIKKP. LONDON. July 29. Tn the House of Lords. Karl Balfour stated that about six thousand refugees including two thousand men, have entered the Tangier international zone. Britain was unable to relieve the misfortunes of people lor whom she was not responsible.
