[uV TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOCIATION'. WESTPORT, July 26. At hockey, Buller defeated Australia by six to lour after a. fast game in mud and water. WEST POUT. July 28. -V hockey match, Australia v. Buller, was played at Victoria Square to-day on a heavy ground, under adverse weather conditions, in the presence of a large gatheding of spectators, and war won by Buller by six goals to four. The game, under the circumstances, was a brilliant exposition of hockey, and is regarded as having been the most thrilling ever played on a local field. The lirM spell ended with the scores level, one each. Craig ( Australia) and Hockey (Buller) being the scorers. In I In* second spell. I|n‘ game was very fast and exciting, with numerous invasions ot’ both circles, and many ineffectual shots at goal. Walker shot a good goal for Buller. Loekev adding another.
