The hill was introduced and read a first time. I he follow ing hills were read a second time after a briet debate: 1 lie lire Brigade Bill (Hon It. F. Bollard), the Counties Amendment Bill (Hen. It. 1‘• Bollard). Mutual Fire Insurance Bill (i| ( ,n. Sir 11. Khodf'.s). Housing Act Amendinmit (Hon. G. J. Audio son), and the National Provident Fund Amendment (Hon. Fir 11. Rhodes). Tim remainder of the afternoon sitting was occupied by a resumed discussion on the Tourist Departmental report which was laid on the table. At the evening sitting the debate on the Budget was opened by Mr T. K. Sidcv. who was Ibllcwed by Bir Janie-. Parr and Mr Vcitch.
The debate was adjourned on the motion of Mr 1. llollestou and the House rose at 11 p.m.
