At, the .Princess Theatre to-night the strangest and weirdest picture story ever conceived hy the human brain, “ The Monkey’s Raw,” will bo screened at .McLean’s. In a little country town live .Mr and Mrs .Tames White, and their son Herbert. The only cloud in their sky is the mortgage on their cottage, and now that Herbert' has a. rise in .salary they hope to pay it off soon. One evening Ser-geant-Major .Morris, who has just returned from India has supper with them. The eoiiversYitiou veers to Hindu magic, and he relates the strange talc of the monkey’s paw. which grants to its owner three wishes, but happy is lie who is content and a.sks for nothing, for the desires are granted by the monkey’s paw ill such a terrible way that the recipient would rather be without. . . . Weeks go hv. 'i no devoted mother is unreconciled to the death ol her son. At last she lias an idea: the monkey’s paw killed her darling; the monkey’s paw shall restore him to her. She eoniidos in her husband, who is horrified, and tells her that poor Herbert’s bead had been terribly mutilated. She refuses however, to listen to reason, and lories the old man to wish that their son was alive again. A wild storm is raging outside. Suddenly the latch on the cottage door moves up and down, and the thumps from the knocker reverberate through the room. .Mrs White rushes in draw back the heavy liars, and admit her dearly loved child. The bars stick, and Mr White is too frightened at the thought of what tn.ay bc wit limit, to go io her assistance, lie drops In bis knees to pray, and sees the monkey's paw. He grabs it up. and wishes that Ids son may remain peacefully dead. '1 lie knocking stops. Mrs White ilings open Hie door. The. wind howls and the mill hurls itself at her. Now one is there!
