APPEAL COURT.
[-SY TELEGRAPH —PER PRESS ASSOOIATI-d.] WELLINGTON, July 2. The Court of Appeal was engaged this morning in the hearing of motions to strike off from the roll of solicitors. Ml- Von Ilaast. for the Law Society, moved that Martin Joseph O’Brien be struck off the roll: on the ground of Ins conviction for forgery and theft. A rule nisi was made, absolute accordingly, costs being allowed. (n re llcnrv Edward Elliott. Mr ' Haast appeared for the Law Society. Mr Blair for Mr Elliott, stated that a solicitor was required to have audited a trust account, hut Elliot had not complied with the statutory requirements. This was his third time beinre the Appeal Court for offences aga.nsl the Law Practitioners Act. Elliott has sent a telegram that if the matter was adjourned for one week, he " <>u 1 dueo an auditor’s certificate. K> * la treated the proceedings with contempt. He had tiled no affidavits.
