ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. SMALL YARDIXGS. p,EEF AND .MUTTON ADVANCES (By Telegraph.—Special to Duardiaa) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs H. Matson and Co., report as follows regarding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday : .•store sheep—Owing to the inclement weather the yarding was very small, and was composed mostly of hoggets, with a few odd pens of wethers, but practically no decent ewes were yarded. There was a small attendance of buyers, but the market, nevertheless, was very firm for all sort s. I here v:as no quotable difference from last week. Store cattle: —A very small yarding, heinc all nondescript lot.-. Only one decent line was offered. 25 empty cows, making £2 7s fid and better sorts up to £3 15s. There were no other quotable lines offered. Bigs A very small entry of porkeis ami bnconers; consequently primers advanced. Light porkers made 40s up to 50s, heavy 55s to 755. average 8d to SUI: choppers. £4 to 08. Store pigs—A very small entry, all lots selling at late rates. Values were: Weanors made 1 Is to 20s. small stores •20s to 30s. medium 32s to Sfis. large to •los. Beef A smaller yarding than last week and the quality generally was wood, several excellent lines of steers being raided. The market, although opening spasmodically as it progressed, and towards the end of the sale was verv firm. The average rise was about 30s on last week. Prime su-eis muct £ls 15s to £lB. extra £23 <s od. medium £l3 to £ls 10s. others down to £7 10s, prime cows £S to £l° los, extra to £l3 7s Gd, medium £5 to £i l->-. others to £3 10s. Mutton —A smaller yarding, but the quality, in our opinion, was better than

recently, several excellent lines of both ewes and wethers being in from South Canterbury and the AYest Coast, while country butchers were in the market, and as the yarding comprised only sufficient for local supplies, exporters could only operate sparingly and the market cosnequently was Is fid to 2s firmer all round. Prime wethers made 42s to 40s. extra to 51s Id. medium 39s fid to 4]s fid, lighter to 335. prime ewes 30s Od to 425. extra to 48s. good owes 32s to 30s fid. medium 2 s s fid to 31s fid, others to 235. Fat lambs—A very few were in and only washings up. there being really nothing quotable offered and this will practically be the end of the season. The weather during the last few days lias been very bad and it is still raining hard.
