ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET,

(By Telegraph.—Special to Guardian.), CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Messrs H. Matson and Co., report as follows regal ding their stock sale at Addington yards yesterday : Store Sheep— A smaller yarding than la<t week, but quite a good entry for this time of the year, being mostly hoggets with one or two pens of good local ewes. There were not many wethers in. The market, if anything was tinner than last week, hut there was little if any quotable difference. The best ■(. G and 8 tooth Romney cross ewes made -10 s to -iIN. good grossbred ;Ms to 365. medium -os 6d to 28s, aged and inferior t Is to 2-'ls, cross-bred ewe hoggets 26s to 2:ts illd. cross-bred wether hoggets 21 s Gil to 23s lid. smaller 18s to 21, forward wethers 27s lid to 28s 10d. Store Cattle—The same as usual, a fairly large yarding of mostly odd lots and potters. Xo quotable lines were yarded. Fat pigs—Only a medium entry of porkers and a small yarding of baconers. Prices for porkers improved on late rates whilst haconcrs sold on a par with last week. Values were: Light porkers £2 10s to £'3, heavy £3 3s to £3 11s, average price 8d to 9tl, light lmeoners £1 to £4 17s fid, heavy £5 to £5 13s fid, extra to £fi Is, average 7jcl to Bjd; choppers £4 to £8 3s Gd?_ Store pigs—‘Only a very small yarding- and prices tvll through are on a

par with last week’s rates. Values: Weatiers 16s to 21s fid. small stores 2os to 335. medium 35s to Ills, large to 45s fid. Xo sows were in in the pig section. Beef—A slightly larger yarding than last week, comprising 530 head. The quality generally was very irregular, but included one or two decent lines of local and station cattle. Cows comprised the largest percentage of the yarding. The market generally was tinner, showing an average rise of 15s to 20s per head, especially cn the best quality. Considering the large yardinos recently (the last four weeks averaging 550 head) the prices ruling are marvellous, ft is wonderful where all the beef comes from, but .still more marvellous where it all goes to. Prime steers made £l-1 to £IS ills, extra to C2O 2s fid. medium £l2 to £l3 lo». others down to £5 12s fid. prime heifers £8 to £lO IDs. extra to £l2. others down to £5 ss, prime cows £7 to £9 10s. extra to £l2 17s fid, medium cows L's to I'fi 15s. others down to £3. Mutton. —A smaller yarding than last week, but quite enough for butchers’ requirements. The quality generally was very indifferent and comprised mostly of ewes. Any good wethers or prime owes sold well at last week s rate, but medium or inferior ewes were hardlv as good, exporters did not seem so keen. However. the sale must ho considered satisfactory throughout, especially taking the qnalitv into consideration. Prime wethers made 10s to 13s fid. extra to 50s Id. medium 37s to 39s fid. lighter -and inferior down to 32s 6d, prime ewes 32s to 365. extra to 45s Id. medium 28s to 31s 6d. lighter 22s fid to 27s fid, others down to 17s fid.

Lambs—A very .small yarding, only oddments and washing ups. exporters were apathetic- as the quality was anything hut attractive. Butchers and graziers were also operating. Rest lambs made 29s to 365. medium 25s to 28s fid. others to 225.
