At the inquiry into the Traveslon railway disaster, Henry Cook, driver of the leading engine, said he did not know of the disaster till the Westinghouse brake pulled the train up. He
sent the fireman hack to find out what was the matter. The two engines on would tend to deaden the elfect of any dragging. Tin- road was usually rough at several parts due to sleepers not being properly packed.
