[ Reuter Telegrams. ) ST ['DENTS’ DEMANDS. (Received tins day at 10.20 a.m.) PEKIN, June 8. A meeting at Shanghai of various Chinese commercial and student unions passed resolutions which were handed to the Chinese delegates, including four demands which the strikers consider essential preliminaries to official negotiations: Firstly, cancellation of state emergency; secondly, the withdrawal of marines; thirdly, the release of arrested rioters; fourthly, the restoration of closed schools.

The resolutions reveal wide aspirations, including the early cancellation of extra tcrritnralily, the Anglo-Min-isters meanwhile to apologise to the Government and guarantee no further similar action.

A student demonstration at Foochow proved a fiasco owing to the tupans preeautionary measures.
