The last man in danger wa.s rescued after eighteen hours up a tree. Hundreds of corn pickers and rabbi tern are out of employment. At Cambria the waters have fallen twelve feet.
Aloruya experienced the greatest Hood on record. The coastal .steamer Birmagu was carried bodily over a training wall and .stranded many yards from the channel. In order to rollout her she will have to he beached and a channel dredged to ■the river.
The rain on the Alurrumhidgce watershed has now teased and the Hood waters are expected to reach W aggi today. The Shoalhuveu river is com-
mencing to drop. The Yas.s River rose thirty-two loot which is ten loot higher than any
previous level. .Many houses were washed away by the river Bulls. The Goulburn did not reach the height of a fortnight ago by two loot. The bridge approaches suffered severely. RAILWAYS REFUSE TO CARRY BEER. BERTH. A lay 29. In connection with the Carters and Brewers strike, the Minister of Railways states the Australian Labour Part,- Disputes Committee had lcpresented that if the country breweries supplied beer to take tho place of that previously made by the strikers, the railway employees might become involved. As he did not want to run that risk the railways would not transport such beer.

UNIVERSITY BAGGERS. SYDNEY, May 29.
University students intend to hold a procession in the city to-day, despite the Senate’s ban, if the police do not stop it. Last night a party of about four hundred paraded the streets in caterpillar fashion. At one refreshment place, a group of students commenced to sing the Red flag hut the singers wore counted out.
