11 o>pita i. enquiry. DUNEDIN, -May 22. The Hospital Hoard decided to hold an eiKpiiry on the recent death in the hospital of Janies Robertson, who swallowed a dental plate. This was not removed at once, and when an external operation was about to commence, the patient collapsed.

At to-dav’- meeting of the Canterbury Education Hoard, the Appointments Committee reported that its attention had been drawn to a newspaper notice that a school loot hall team mi the West Coast had arranged to lake part in a match on a Sunday. It was resolved to express the opinion that the Hoard viewed with disfavour any such practices, and to ask the school committees to discountenance similar fixtures.
