SHOT AT.
- A STARTLING OCCURRENCE. When the Himu Dredge was in working operation last night, about 9.9(1 o’clock, and Albert Thomas, one of the workmen engaged was at work in front of a window facing the stacker tit the rear of the dredge a bullet from what is considered a .22 pea rifle struck the window just above his head, and passed right through a t and g lining hoard and thence disappeared. From investigation it- appears that the shot was fired, from the rock tailings pile a short distance lrom the dredge.
The drcdgcnnisfier and the police were advised, hut their investigations did not serve to elucidate the allair which is a mystery, though it caused •c,";usidorable commotion aboard the dredge among the workers.
