' The election of Dr .Marx to the Curman Pre-i leuev is regarded as assured. This will he a bard blow to the Nationalist ambitions, as the Presidents term of office is seven years. The election ill show that a very considerable and increasing majority ol the nation favours the Republican regime. *' The Communists have again nominated Herr Thaelmunn. Th c Rightists to-day will nominate Herr Jarres again. A joint conference between the Centre. the Democrat, and the Social Democrat parties has nominated the i*xChancellor. Dr Marx, as their joint candidate for the German presidency.
