AVATAROA AUTUMN SALE

On Thursday nt the AVataroa yards the nutuniii sale of .surplus stock Imm South Westland was held when Messrs AV. Jeffries and Co submitted to auction 277 head ol nettle and (>l) shoe]). Competition was keen throughout the fixture and prices with few exceptions were up to and in some cases in excess of those at the spring market. The oustnndiug entries were those of Messrs Nolan Bros and Eggeling and Sons the tops of their entries making £ll Vs Gd and £9 12s Gd respectively.' which compares more than favourably with the prices at Burnside on the previous day when a very large yarding of forward stores from the lakes district were sold.
