LORD CURZON’S DEATH
TRIBUTES TO HIS WORK. , CUT KALIAN \ND N.Z. O‘BLK ASSOCIATION. LONDON, March 21. Directly the House of Commons met, Mr Baldwin, Prime Minister said he was sure the whole House would regret Lord Curzon’s death. He would move an official motion on Monday. Mr J. 11. Thomas, bn behalf of the Labour Party, sympathised with the Cabinet in its loss of a great loyal colleague. The country had lost a great statesman. M.r Godfrey Collins paid tribute on behalf of the Liberal Party. The newspapers are paying the warmest tributes in extended articles to Lord Curzon’s life and achievements under the handicap of a spinal injury. The choice of his Cabinet successor is already the subject of conjecture. There is a strong opinion that Lord Balfour will be invited to accept his post. The funeral service will be hold at Westminster Abbey on .A\ ediieso.l.. and the internment will he at Kedleston on Thursday. PARIS, March 21. Though the French press nays a tribute to Lord Cuv.zon as a great British statesman all sections agree he was no friend to France, the Right papers attribute to his inelastic and unadaptable mind most of the postwar Anglo-French friction.
