Burglars entered the Greyniouth I'ost Office late on Saturday night, or early on Sunday morning, hut their efforts were in vain, as nothing was taken, although several drawers in the main office had been tampered with. The intruder forced an entry by smashing a window at the rear of the building, and footprints could he seen on the sill. The discovery was made by a char-woman when she entered the building yesterday morning. The matter is in the hands of the police.
The death took place at Kniata on Friday evening of Mrs Jessie Bradley at the advanced age of 8(i years. Deceased who was a native of Fifeshire, Scotland, arrived in New Zealand over sixty years ago, and was one of the parliest settlers in the. Kniata district. The late Mrs Bradley was predeceased by her huf.shnnd many years ago. She leaves three daughters and one son.
