New Zealand own the toss, and elected to bat lirst on a good wicket. However, the New Zealanders were dismissed lor 22G runs. A lion, who was top scorer with ol uiot out) played a sound and valuable innings, and good form was also shown by Worker and Blunt, who batted solidly. Hiddlestone commenced well, and the two last batsmen, Dickinson and AleBreath. played brightly. Liddicutt, Wallace, and Hartkopf bore the brunt of the attack and all did well. They were supported by keen fielding. Victoria commenced their innings with half an hour to go, hut, alter two overs had been howled, it was decided to draw stumps.
