The Board met at 8.0 p.lll. Present: Messrs .). J. Breeze (Chairman). G. Davidson, G. H. Blank, F. A. Wells, W. Jeffries. T. AY. Duff and A. B. Spiers. Apologies for absence were made for Messrs Meharry and Morel. The minutes were confirmed and correspondence outward approved. IN WAR D COR R FSPOXDFXCE. From Dr Valintine. Wellington, notifying proposed conference of Hospital Boards had been postponed.—Received. From same, re nurses’ certificates.— Received; referred to Matron and Surgeon Superintendent. From Nurse Chcvcrton, resigning position as Sister at Westland Hospital.— Received and accepted with regret. From N. "Wylie, asking for consideration of application for an increase of salary as laundry manager.—Received. Mr Blank moved that the salary be increased by 10s per week. Seconded by Mr Wells and carried. From District Public Trustee. Greymouth agreeing to disposal of a hut at Kumnra in a deceased person's estate; from police officer, Kumnra, stating the hut had been sold for £O. and from the Town Clerk Kumnra, claiming rates £2 Os 1 Oil or the property.—Received. Mr Blank moved that no action be taken in reference to the claim for rates. Seconded by Mr Davidson and carried. From District Health Officer, Greymouth in reference to certificates for children to traveler— Received. From Nurse Scott, Waiho Gorge, asking for supply of chaff and oats for horse, as the present paddoeking arrangements had been cancelled.—Tt was resolved that an enquiry lie made from Dir L. R. Gibb as to paddoeking arrangements. 1 From various, in reference to outstanding accounts.—Received and action taken as required. 1 REPORTS. From Surgeon Superintendent, reporting patients in hospital on 31st. January. 25 males. 15 females —10; admitted,' 18 males, 7 females—2s; total treated, -13 males, 22 females—fis; discharged cured, ]fi males, 8 females—2-1; discharged relieved. 1 male, 1 female ; died 1 male : total discharged. 18 males. 8 females—2G. Tn hospital on 28th. Feb.. 25 males, 14 females—39. In hospital ior two months, 14 males, fi females From House Committee reporting on a number of matters requiring attention.— Received and adopted. From Finance Committee reporting accounts £Ol7 10s Id for payment.— Received and adopted. From Treasurer reporting receipts £897 13s llld, payments £904 17s Od; credit balance £1029 2s fid; building account credit, balance £225 (is 3d. Received. Meeting-, of the Bottl'd in -April were ii\ed for the titli. and 27th. Dir Jelfries -stated that at the last meeting a deputation had waited on the Board from Kumnra, when as a result id enquiries made by the secretary it was shown that the' representations made were incorrect, and that the Board were unable to legally give effect to the representations made. Dir Spiers stated that the Kumnra people were quite aware of the position. as tile result of enquiries made themselves. They had also interviewed Sir James Parr on the subject. The Secretary reported on his enquiries, proving the statement of one if the deputation from Kumnra, was orrniiooii.s, and that the Hoard was unable to move as requested by the deput at ion. It was resolved to inform the Kitlnara deputation accordingly. The Hoard rose at 8.55 p.m.
