STATE ADVANCES.
PREMIER REPLIES TO STATEMENTS. WELLINGTON. March 17. Exception is taken by the Prime Minister, who is also the Minister in charge of State Advances Office to a statement by two Auckland members of Parliament, Messrs Lee and Parry, to the effect that the inspectors employed l»y the State Advances Department had been given holidays until the end of the financial year so as to avoid further progress payments on homes. The following reply has been sent by Mr Massev to the telegram on the subject received by him; ‘Am amazed at . statement that inspectors have been given holidays so as to avoid progress payments on houses until after the end of the financial year. There is net a tithe of truth in it.
