THOUGHTS FOR THE TIMES
St. Paul e. From hoary pile and crumbling mould, j We draw from out the deathless past Those living glories that outlast The enervating lust of gold. The royal arch, t!io classic dome. The soaring spire that draws the day, Still call the children far away Back to their loved ancestral home: And when the rush of time does age The towering temples of our fame. Shall loyal Britons blush to name The ruins of their heritage? Ye gen’rous donors, rich in zeal, And ever ready to respomi To calls for help, away beyond The civile of our common weal, Now rise to play the noble part. Restore the picture to its place, That it may urge with growing grace The beating of a Britons’ heart. A. Al. CAMPBELL. Those wishing to contribute towards the St. Paul’s restoration fund may forward their donations to this paper' office.
