SHIPPING DISPUTES
AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION THE VOLUMINA TROUBLE. the captain arrested. SYDNEY, March 11. When the steamer Yolumnia arrived here from Fremantle, the master. Captain T. Thomas, was arrested on a warrant from Fremantle on the charge ol leaving 23 members of the crew at I'romantic, when the voyage for which they were engaged, had not been completed. Captain Thomas appeared at the Court, and was remanded until March 25th. , He stated to the Court that the original crew of the Yolumnia were gaoled at Fremantle for refusing duty, and after they were released they were put aboard the vessel. Then they left and he (the master) spirited another crew aboard, and sailed.
THE WATEHSTDEIIS’ BAN. SYDNEY. March 11. The Watorsiders have decided not to work the Yolumnia. stating that tlie vessel is still “black. AORANGI DIFFICULTY SETTLED. SYDNEY. March 11. The difficulty between the l nion Company and 'the seamen over the ■Voramd’s accommodation has been settled" The vessel sails to-morrow to time.
