The West Coast Bowling Centre advised this morning that the singles champion of champions contest at Westport, arranged for Saturday next has been further postponed till Saturday. At a meeting hold in the Bowling ('lull’s pavilion last evening, the ] resident, .Mr (!. It. Blank occupying the chair, there was a fair attendance of members and lady supporters. Alter discussion it was resolved in view of the support received in connection with the recent tournament, combined with the lateness of the season, not to hold a gala day this year. ]t was further resolved to make a special elfort in connection with the annual Bowling Club hall to he held in the Soldiers’ Hall on Wednesday, June 3rd., and the necessary arrangements were put in train. Appreciation was voiced of the substantial support accorded the Club by lady supporters in connection with the recent tournament, enabling the Club to uphold its line record ol hospitality to the visiting players. The meeting then terminated.

G. Dickinson, the Otago howler, who is to play in the test match against the Victorian cricketers, is the lirst New Zealander to represent the Dominion in both the cricket and Rugby fields. At Otago Boys’ High School. Dickinson was the star of the first filtcen. Tn 1922 he gained a place in the All Blacks team which visited New South Wales. When the trial games were held to .select the All Black team which is just returning from the Old Country. he was not available. The nearest heretofore to win the dual honour was S. A. Orchard, of Christchurch, who roi)resented New Zealand in Rugby in 1896 and 1897. He represented the South Island against the North in 1991. D. M’TC. Sandman, of Christchurch, who has represented the Dominion at cricket, played for the New Zealand Army Rugby team.

Sir Westb.v Brook Percival, who was at one time Agent-General in Ijondon for New Zealand is at present in Christchurch, accompanied by Lady Percival. The wedding of Mr C. Caliari third son ~f Mr and Mrs Caliari of Kanieri. and Miss 1. M. Brown, eldest daughter. of Mr and Mrs T. Brown, Davie Street, Hokitika, took place at St. alary’s Churih at 8 a.in. on Tuesday, 10th. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr Kennedy. The bride who was given away by her father vote a navy costume and a hat to suit and carried a hoquet of pink lillics and autumn leaves. She was attended by .Miss 1).
