At the Princess Theatre last night before a. good attendance and a very appreciative audience, the Dixie Jubilee Minstrels gave one of their characteristic concerts, lamiliar to those who call recall the artistic work of the Tisks in years gone by. The programme was a varied one, hut plantation and - humorous songs obtruded, and the singers achieved their best effects in these quaintly happy numbers, ’I here were six singers and all laid opportunities t.o distinguish themselves. Mr Buckner, besides possessing a basso profundi) voice, proved an able elocutionist, reciting two telling numbers by Dunbar, the renowned negro poet. Another diversion from the vocal items, was Mr Morris’ clever and artistic cartoons, done to an accompaniment of patter, which was all very amusing. Rollicking fun was created with many of the concerted numbers. The male quartettes were impressive because ot their organ-like effects when opportunity otiered. In the sextettes, in which the holies joined, pleasing numbers were rendered also, while Mrs Buckner’s soprano solos pleased the audience greatly. Altogether the entertainment was bright and pleasing, a pleasant change in variety from the general run of late, and guagod by the sustained applause to the very great delight of the audience. The company left for the north again this morning. s
