I A meeting of those interested in motor cycle racing decided to approach the motor cycling bodies both in New I Zealand and Australia with a view to forming an Australasian Motor Cycling Association with the object of bettei control and improvement of the sport generally. At a conference of the representatives of local governing bodies interested in the supply of electricity from the City Council at which about twenty-eight councils were represented, a motion was carried stating the meeting considers the generation and distribution of electricity within the metropolitan area other than what is required by the railways and tramways departments, can best lie handled by municipal enterprise without Government enterprise. Patrick .Marshall, contractor of Ilexfield was committed for trial on a charge of attempting to cause poison to he administered to hi* wife Agnes, with, intent to murder. The police alleged that Marshall insured his wife's life for two thousand sterling on 25th. January, and two days later took her to a doctor who prescribed for her. She took the medicine at first without any ill effects, hut on 2nd. February site became violently ill. and was sent to the hospital, whore she recovered, hut after taking another dose of the medicine on (Sth. February while in the hospital she was again violently ill from strychnine poisoning. Ail analysis of the modiene showed that strychnine had been added.
