The departure of the Alarama which was delayeil front 11 a.m. until -I p.m. to-dav was further postponed in the afternoon, and it was announced by the Union Ci.iiij.finy that the vessel would not sail till noon to-nn-.-row. The firemen left the ship under the terms of their original notice to leave the vessel about 10.30 a.m.. and the seamen were .stated to bate left the ship at 6 p.m. In all. about sovony members of the crew are involved. The Union Company cannot guarantee that the vessel will get away. To-day when seen by a reporter, the General Manager of the Union Company (Mr D. A. Aitken) bad little information to impart. ‘‘The Alarama s departure has been postponed until midday on Saturday.” lie said. Asked if he thought the prospects of the vessel getting away to-morrow wore good, he replied that the Company hoped to be able to dispatch the Afavaaia at midday.
