The infantile paralysis suspect is a one year old child, who was admitted to the Grey Hospital lust evening from Runauga A REMARKABLE, DROP. WELLINGTON, February 18. Notifications of cases of infantile paralysis for 21 hours ending 9 a.m. to-day .show a remarkable drop, namely to six for the whole Dominion: Wellington City one, Wai tarn two, Wanganui two, Heston (Canterbury) one. A SOUTHLAND CASE. INVERCARGILL, February 18. A case of infantile paralysis, that of a two-year old child, has been definitely diagnosed at Riverton. The Health Department state that it is a contact case, and they have taken the usual precautions. A “SUSPECT” FROM RUNANGA. GREYMOUTH, Fob. 19. A nils pc’ toil ease of infantile paralysis. the second case to come from Rmuinga, has boon admitted to tlie Grey River Hospital. The patient is a child of twelve months. Inquiries made last night elicited tho information that the ease is progressing satisfactorily, although it will ho a day or two yet before the diagnosis will reveal the true nature of the ease.
NOT INFECTED. DUNEDIN. Fob. 19. Another suspected case of infantile paralysis was admitted to the hospital this morning. ’I he suspect is now definitely pronounced as not infantile paralysis. BREACH OF HEALTH REGULATIONS. NEW PLYMOUTH, Feb. 19. At tho S.M. Court this morning three defendants were lined £2 and costs each for taking children under 19 to a racecourse last week in contravention to the Health Department regulations.
