BOY DROWNED. WANGANUI, February 8 A six-yea r-od child. Wm. Alexander Rainhnni. was drowned in the river on Saturday afternoon. CHILD DROPS DEAD. CHRISTCHURCH, Fcrlmary 8. MILLFRTON SHOOTING ACCIDENT WESTPORT, February 8. A man. believed to be named Newton. who went out with companions shooting, behind Millerton. is reported to have been shot in the stomach. Large numbers of miners have gone out to cut a track through the hush to bring him to Millerton. Particulars are ot available.
