The totalisator handled £27,743, compared with £29,075 for the first day last year. The following are the resales: Ohawe Hurdles—Wench 1, Gold Peak 2, Equitable 3. Won by two lengths. Time 3.19.
Flying Handicap.—Pomna 1, Orchid 2. Ilipo 3. Won by a length and nhalf. Time 1.13. Maiden Hack Scurry—Oration 1. Anthem 2, Vaward 3. Won by half a length." Time 1.0 2-5. Egmont Chip— Stork 1, Landslide 2, Murahi 3. Won by a nose. Time 2.33;. Juvenile Handicap—Nancy Lee 1, Lady Bentinek 2, Roburite 3. Yon by half a length. Time 1.2 Nolan Cup—Mountain Bell 1, llroilus *2, Valencia 3. Won by three-quarters of a length. Time 1.49. Wharcroa Welter—lmperial Spark 1, The Banker and Esthonian (dead heat) 2, Clcasnnt 4. Won by a nose. Time 1.48. 3-5. Waipnpa, Hack—Starshell, Carbe 2, Taitaiata 3. Won by five lengths. Time 1.28.
