JAP PIRATE ON TRIAL.
TOTvIO, January 28. The trial is proceeding of Mature, an alleged Japanese pirate and his erew. on a charge of scuttling, three years ago. two Russian ships in Siberian waters and massacring of their crews. Fifty lawyers are preparing for the defence of the leader, whereof it is claimed that Fznre fired in a patriotic fury at the memory of the notorious Nikolaiev'sk massacre by the Russians. He killed only twenty men and secured fifty thousand yen as booty which was insignificant as compared with the seven hundred faithful Japanese slaughtered and many million yen are involved in the Xikolaievsk massacre.
