They will be joined up by others along the load, so that by the time tiie stock reach Ross there will lie several thousands. The drovers expect to be about a lortniglit on the road. The stock is destined for Canterbury.
The success of Triumph Motor Cycles at the motor cycle sports on the racecourse on Saturday last, was one ol the features of the gathering, the fastest time in every race being scored by Y. M. Bergamini on a four valve Recardo Triumph. Full particulars of these reliable machines can be obtained from the local agents Messrs Ramment and Bergamini.
The Westland Acclimatisation Society has been advised by the Depaitment of Internal Affairs that the regulations governing the stalking season in South Westland (llaast Region) will be gazetted shortly. It is expected there will be a good season, which will extend over two months. Mr J. I* orbes of Christchurch, vho has been acting for tho society in the ballot for the blocks, having a first hand knowledge of the locality, states that there will be no vacant blocks this season. The stalkers will include several lrom the North Island and also one English partv coming out specially lor the South Westland shooting. Tho fees demanded this season, by arrangement with the Government are to be used in culling the heads during the off-sea-son.
