CATTLE BREEDS

Slatistics in regard to breeds of cattle, horses and pigs have now been tabulated, and arc published by the Statistician for general information. The most noteworthy feature of the 'tabulation is the increase shown in dairy breeds. This is. of course, the outcome of comparative market values, beef breeds being less profitable than dairy. There were also 101,083 hack or harness light horses and 57,501 spring cart or light artillery horses, making with trotting horses 105,731, as against 171,133 in 1921. Draught horses, including tin eoquartcr draught, totalled 132,062, ns against 14G.311. There were 9432 ponies under fourteen hands, as compared with 10,048 in 192].
