BOWLING.

RUNANGA V. HOKITIKA. Five rinks from the Runanga Club visited Hokitika on Saturday afternoon and played the local Club. As the visitors hail brought down three senior and two junior rinks. the local rinks were altered to meet the situation. The game resulted in a win for Hokitika by 48 points, tho scores being 125 to 77. The visitors were welcomed by tho President (Mr Blank), Mr Heslin (Vice-President of the Runanga Club) replying in a suitable strain. A sharp shower fell just as play was about to commence, which delayed play for about a few minutes, and it then remained fine till play had finished, when rain again fell. The shower had tlm effect of taking the keenness off the green for a while, but it steadily improved as the afternoon wore on. The ladies provided a dainty afternoon tea, which players and a number of visitors fully appreciated. At the conclusion of the play Mr Blank annon need that probably a team would visit Runanga on the occasion of the school excursion and play a return visit. Mr Heslin expressed appreciation of the hospitality extended, and the capital game that had taken place and assured a warm welcome at any time a team visited Runanga.
