HOKITIKA BOWLING CLUB

A meeting of the general committee wtis held in the pavilion hist evening at 7.30 o’clock. Present; Messrs G. H. Blank (President in the chair), NY. Wilson, .). Wilson, kl. A. Thompson, J. Bain, A. 15. King. •). Ward. D. Stevenson and A. Benjamin (lion, see.)

The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was read from the Wellington Bowling Club, notifying two rinks would be in Hokitika on Saturday. Feb. Tltli., and expressing a desire to meet two local rinks.—Received and offer accepted with pleasure, arrangements for the game to he made. The Secretary reported that the Ruuuiiga Club had notified a desire to play a game on Saturday next, and that the match committee had authorised the acceptance of the offer. Action approved, the. match to start at 2 p.m. and it to he a general tea day, the team to be selected the next evening.

In connection with the approaching West Coast tournament it was resolved to call a meeting of lady supporters for .Monday next at 7 p.m. at the pavilion to make general arrangements lor suitably providing the necessary hospitality during the course of the play, ail lady supporters to he invited to attend the meeting. It was resolved after a general discussion that the Club he represented hv two official rinks, and that Messrs D. Stevenson and A’. E. Benjamin bo appointed skips, and to make their own selection, and that any other players desiring to play form their own rink and nominate. Subsoouontly the two skips met and selected the following eight Messrs Bain. Blank. Benjamin. A. King. T). Stevenson, Thompson. J. and AY. AYilson.

Tt was resolved that necessary attention be at once given to the pavilion, and that the green receive every possible attention to put it in as good order ns possible. Other matters in connection with the tournament wore discussed, and t lie meeting terminated at 8.10 p.m.
