ICHTIULUN \ND N.Z. O'.ilLK ASSOCIATION. RULES OF .RUGBY. WELLINGTON, January 10. An informal report was received today from Mr S. F. AA’ilsou, who with >|,r S. S. Dean, represented New Xcn■]and at the Imperial Rugby Conference held at London last mouth. It shows (lie New Zealand delegates have done very good work, and that a good deal of the ground has been covered. The most important result is the setting up of an Imperial Advisory Board consisting of representatives from each of the following Rugby counties:— England. Scotland, AY),les. Ireland. South Africa, New South Wales and New Zealand. The constitution of that body was to be drafted by tlie two New Zealand delegates. It is anticipated this committee will gain in power, and that in time it will control the laws of the game. Dominion representation on existing International Board is not likely, as that body’s work is more concerned with the Home counties. AYith regard to alterations to the laws of the game..as proposed bv New Zealand and New South AVales, no definite decisions were made, the delegates not being asked to vote on the various questions placed belore flic Conference, ft is reported, however, that the kick into touch rule, as played here, was very favourably received, and it seems almost certain that the five yards throw-in from touch will become universal in the near futuie. Mr Wilson has been doing a greatdeal of propaganda work in AA ales. He lectured to an audience of oyer (jfjrt people, including many ol high rank in "Rugby. He is of opinion that the English Rugby Union now undeislaiuls New Zealand’s viewpoint. Throw'll Mr AYilseu. an International Conference of Rugby Referees was arranged for the 2nd of .lamia,y. and ii was expected, as a result ol this, tlml tlie referees of various countries would become better acquainted wit i one another, the intention being to arrange for corresponding freely on matters relating to the control of the o;a m o. fTTr ..
