WESTLAND FROZEN PORK
TRIAL CONSIGNMENT. Recently a trial lot of pigs Irom Mr .1. Mclntosh's fa: m were frozen at the Central Dair\ Factory works at Hokitika and forwarded to a leading linn of bacon eurers in Canterbury. Reports to hand concerning tin- consignment show that the pork arrived in excellent condition inasmuch that 9.1 per lb was netted fci the full lot. It must la- pleasing li-r farmers to note the success attains] as the profitable conductance, of sueh •industry will give quite an impetus to extensive pig breeding on this part of the Coast. It is only right to mention the initiation of the frozen porlr industry was undertaken by the Central Faetorv Company under the guidance of its energetic manager, Mr 11. T. Parry.
