[“The Times” Service.] PRINCE OF WALES. LONDON, November 1. The Prince of Wales aboard tho Olympic, arrived at Southampton from America. He sent a message to the press, saving he had a wonderful holiday, but was glad to get home again. He paid a tribute to America and Canadian hospitality.
YBRES DAY. (Received this day at 8.30 a.m.) LONDON, November 2. Ypres Day was observed at the cenotaph in tho presence of several thousand. Field Marshal Lard J’lnmer, accompanied by Military Attaches of France and Belgium laid a great wreath of lilies and cornflowers which was handed to him on behalf of Ypres League, by Mrs Thwaites, widow of an Australian officer, jind Scrgt Brooks, a Victoria Crosser.
JAPANESE INTEREST. TOKIO, November 2. Tbe keenest interest was manifested in the British elections. Press comments are chiefly centred round tho probable revival of tbe Singapore scheme, and the attitude of the futuro Government to Russia.
WEMBLY CLOSES. LONDON, Nov. 1. There was a heavy rainfall on tho closing day at Wembley. Nevertheless a huge crowd arrived early. Trado was the briskest in the various pavilions. Tbe popular programme seemed to be bargain hunting in tbe morning, and attendance at the Stadium during the afternoon to bear tbe Prime Minister deliver an address at tho closing ceremony, and amusements in tbe Bark in the evening. HARNETT’ CASE. LONDON, Nov. 1. The wife of Harnett lias obtained a judicial separation on the grounds of lu-r husband’s desertion. Tbe suit was undefended.
