PRIORITY OF REPORTS,
FIRM’S PROTEST UPHELD. iUSTUALIAN AND N.Z. CARLE ASSOCIATION AYEI.TJXGTOX, October 2D. A notification has been received from the Telegraphic Department that owing to a protest having been made by a New Zealand firm against press entiles receiving priority the Pacific Cable Hoard cannot now see its way to expedite the transmission of football reports as promised. It lias also been ascertained that there is great delay in the transmission of these reports from the provinces to London. Arrangements were made to lodge the report of the first spell at the interval. The only result so far is that this message comes to hand with the remainder lodged at the coni' lusion of the game.
